If you don't have your own products or services, then you can work on
your online presence and try doing affiliate marketing. There are
many eBooks out there and free newsletters with tips on how to get
started. There is also a lot of information being added to the sister
site of this group about how to do that.
If you are not much for wanting to do the blogging and article
submissions, etc than perhaps a business partner would be a good idea.
Or finding a good Network marketing company that you don't need to do
parties, sell stock, etc. would be a good option. Anything will work
if you have a good product or service and you give enough enthusiasm
and effort.
I have sold Pampered Chef and Tupperware and I can tell you that
Tupperware is not as good of a business as it used to be since
Rubbermaid came out with good products and it is now harder to get
replacements from Tupperware (you have to tack it onto an order-or
have a good friend as a consultant :).
Pampered Chef seems to be still doing well, but I will tell you that
it will be quite a bit of effort for the actual profit you make. More
people will be willing to buy when they see the products demonstrated
at parties, etc. than from a website, not that a website won't sell
anything, just from my experience, even with catalogs circulating,
the customers buy much more at parties.
Of course, most of these will be done in the evening so you should be
sure that is when you have the time available. It certainly is a
viable business, but I think by marketing online you can spend less
time and make a better in.come. You could even still do the website
and drive traffic to it (there are several ways to do that) and
simply add other businesses to your repertoire so that you are
getting multiple streams of in.come...that should be your goal anyway.
I have been in several Network marketing businesses in the past and
was never especially successful with them for different reasons
(mainly due to so-so products or poor support structure and/or comp
plan, you had to spend a lot of money to stay in the business and
earn commissions, and my lack of being able to reach people from
where I lived, etc. or maybe all of the above) and my dear husband
made sure I stayed away from that kind of business for a long time
(not that I really wanted to). The internet has changed the way
business is done! It is amazing!
Almost as a fluke, I got into a new business (so my son who is not
yet 18 could sell one of their products to his scouting friends) and
lo and behold, the products are actually working for me and the
business has grown itself. It wasn't even a plan I had to grow the
business, so you can imagine what would be like to actually try and
work the business. The structure encourages teamwork and helping
others build their businesses....I just happened (or rather was
blessed) to get under a very active bunch...and I had no idea about
all that when I joined. I didn't even know the pay plan or anything
about the other products they sold. I just knew that my son could
sell the powdered energy drink to all his hiking buddies and make
some extra cash, etc.
There are only 3 products, so you don't have to learn about all kinds
of different products and what benefits they have, what is in
them, etc. And, I didn't have to spend a lot of money to sign up! You
can actually get a free bottle of the Acai Plus Vitamin and Mineral
Drink for free ($7 shipping only) and have your spot reserved in the
company. The bottles retail for over $30, so that is a great deal!
(Hey, you know what I will even send you your $7 back to help you
out.)
I have found my fibromyalgia symptoms improved, though the company
does not really promote that it helps that....It is a very nice bonus!
If you are interested in checking out the products(because it can
help a lot of people with health) and the comp plan (if you want to
do it as a business), you may go to the top website at the end of
this email (in case they need to be in the signature and not in the
text).
Also,
On a different note, my SIL has a great business that you can join
for free to begin with, but you would be wanting to up that as soon
as you could afford it or if you have the money to invest, you could
start right away with the higher commissions. This is not a business
that you have to buy products or spend any money at all (if you
choose not to) to stay in the business, but there is a monthly charge
for the license fee to be a travel agent for that particular company
once you go above the free representative level. You can wait until
you are making enough to cover that to move up if you so choose....it
really works great for those that do not have any disposable cash,
but have the desire to get going in a business. I like that.
The business sells travel items(for lack of a better word)such as
airline tickets, cruises, hotel stays, etc. With the baby boomers
going wild over traveling and makiing sure they have the money to
spend on it no matter what, it is a great business and if you can
master referral marketing and the internet, you will be very well
compensated!
I am told there is a different twist on the usual comp plan (not MLM,
but better?...that is what they tell me)and the word of mouth
referral seems to be working for her and REALLY working for her
sponsor (to the tune of 6 figures). You can email her at
princess@ps91.com and tell her where you heard about her business.
She will be tickled to tell you all about it.
You can see a website with more details at the very bottom of this
email.
Best wishes for finding what works for you! You can be successful!
Find what you can get behind wholeheartedly and it will work. You
must be willing to give it some time and effort. It can change your
life!
The CanDoMom
Opportunity never knocks, you must create it.

Subject: [entrepreneurs] Can you recommend products that would be
great to start a business with? I'm
thinking about tried and true, been around a long time type products
(i.e. Pampered Chef). I'd like to set up a website to sell these
products. How does one get started doing this?
Thanks,
Molly
