[entrepreneurs] Re: Bidding Handyman Work

Hey Lara Lee,

I just wanted to throw a hat into this ring. It seems that you have
a good idea of what your product is. I'd just like to throw some
generalities out your way and see what the rest of the group thinks.

This is about the process of what you want to do.

Step 1. Define your skills - this you've done well. (or your
husband's)
Step 2. define your market (Who is using your product.) - this will
point you toward a more successful roleout (or re-roleout,etc.)
Step 3. Match skills to market - this will suggest a market entry
point. Once you have done this you have a niche.
Step 4. Complete a competative analysis. - This points out
competative weaknesses that can be utilized
Step 5 Brainstorm marketing method options - Be creative. Including
everything from business cards to newspaper to television. (note: I
identified over 50 different ways to promote a book and it may only
take one to be successful. I don't know which one. That's later.
Step 6. Choose as many marketing methods that closest fits your
budget, time, style, skills and persona (note: Branding begins here.)
and do what is necessary to start. (the term campaign arose because
marketing is just not one event)
Step 7. Get jobs.
Step 8. Get Testimonials. (May be said, "Opinions" and/or referrals)
and work into marketing campaign.
Step 9. Test EVERYTHING! for what is working and what is not. Adjust
accordingly.
Step 10. Perservere.
Step 11. Repeat.
Final note: These can run concurrently or serially, formally or
informally.

Beside checking this post for spelling errors, Did I forget anything,
folks?

Best Regards,
Patrick
