Just like w/ anyone you have to be cautious when you hire someone. Things to think
about w/ foreigners...they don't always accept your usual form of payment...their English
is not always so good, which makes it hard to communicate, extends the time it takes to
finish the project and your site is prone to typos and grammar mistakes. This last problem
is most problematic because it red flags your site as a scam (which I am sure you are
aware of). Another consideration is that in the cast that you get ripped off, there is no
way to go after them.
When looking for a developer...Talk and research your project w/ various programmers
and compare their comments to those of who you want to deal with...do they seem
knowledgeable...find their limit and if you stump them are they honest? Also, with a big
project I usually break it up into smaller tasks and I send code after partial payment...I
don't recommend waiting till the end and sending one lump sum in return for all the code;
that is a huge risk.
