sex, marital status, children/no children etc. Define who the group
is that you want to market your product to.
Second, start looking for online sites, blogs, groups, etc where
this demographic group goes and reads and shops etc. Lots of
websites, magazines, etc have MEMBERS pages where you can sign up,
join a chat, post on their blog, etc. On many of these sites you
cannot advertise, but you can list your name and company. Plus there
are many smaller shopping sites that have free listings for online
stores.
Third, design a dynamic email to be used for marketing that explains
all about your business... WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE WHY... and most
important HOW MUCH? WHO are you?... WHAT are you selling?... WHEN
is it available and how long will it take to get the product to me
(shipping, etc)?... WHERE are you located? (online only, brick &
mortar store, catalog?)... WHY should I buy your product? (what is
the benefit to ME to purchase your product?
Four, send this email to EVERYONE you know or have every received an
email from... and ANNOUNCE your business.... and ASK for their
support... and ASK FOR REFERRALS, ("please share my business and
website with your family, friends and co-workers)" because people
love to be helpful, but you MUST ask for their help.
Five, when you get a new customer or someone asks a question about
your business or product, find out who referred them to you and send
a personal email or a handwritten THANK YOU note and let them know
you appreciate their business or their referral.
