My story is similar. Can't strike up a conversation with strangers and
certainly cannot speak in front of a group. Let me tell you that I am a
leader in my organization but would never think of presenting my
business opportunity to anyone especailly in front of other leaders.
Recently I was put on the spot, didn't have time to think about it and
was asked to share our streaming media products with a group of about
25. I stepped out of the box, horrified.. Prayed that the right words
would come out of my mouth and guess what. I was asked to present again
next week in front of 50+ people, many leaders included. People told me
I was a natural, others told me they learned more from my presentation
than they had in the past... My point being, do it once and it won't be
as difficult ever again. That experience opened me to sharing what I
know with strangers as well. You don't have to start so big, but I do
think it's more embarrasing to speak in front of friends and family than
strangers. Hope this helps.. It worked for me. I'm over my fear for
now.
