I certainly agree with you on the point of not being able to see your business or pass it on,etc,
I think the only one that you can pass to your children is YTB and they have a few problems and I am not sure they will get then worked out )Of course, they tell you they will), so I have not got jumped into my SILs business. There are other things that is not for me as well.
The best way is to consider it as income to invest and invest in another business or real estate, etc. This helps you afford to be able to get going.
My hubby has a business, but right now he is working his tail off and though he has built an incredible business (for the construction trade), he still is working a lot and investing in real estate a little along....the goal is to have the passive income and should be for anyone= more time for the family( which can be done several different ways).
Of course, I don't think he could really quit even if he and I both made a million bucks a year. He loves business too much.
I have not studied this, but I wonder(and you may know )if since LLCs and S corps, etc.can join an MLM, if one could be formed and join the MLM and then later the name and business perhaps could be sold or passed to children,etc.. Again, I don't know the legalities.
Yes, I think the negative impression is warranted. It seems that we can forgive Bill Clinton and Martha Stewart, but not MLMs. I think most people have had a bad personal experience with a someone hassling them to join their business. That is why I like the new approach that does not hassle a single person.
I also agree that most MLM comp plans are way too complicated! I don't think I could ever explain any of them. I don't know why they do that....I guess they think more is better....more words that they can keep a prospect on the phone...:) LOL
I think MLM is definitely not for everybody and it doesn't have to be. I have always loved marketing and now I have something that I like to market. It is all fun for me. And, it helps a lot of father's and mother's be able to be home with their children....I REALLY love that!
Thanks again,Ed. I appreciate you! I am glad for you and your family business. I think I would get along great with your wife! She can find those deals! I love that, too! I stil shop yard sales and Goodwill...I can never bring myself to pay even 50% off! It is the principle. I have been a penny pincher far too long to default now!
More Power to YA!
Sincerely,
Kim
