I would start by learning everything you can about being social so that you can start socializing. You want to do a litttle bit of everything. I hear so many people try and build their networking business 100% through the internet.
They have no idea how much they are missing. I believe that a networking should be built one on one and use the internet to enhance your business. It is great bring people to your team from internet marketing and I do that too but you get the most out of it and way more loyal people when it is a one on and thing and of course that takes meeting people when you are out and about.
Just start striking up conversations with people. Don't try and pitch and let the conversation go where it needs to go. I have heard from one professional networker that if you strike up 20 conversations a day, you will find 3-4 people that you will be able to talk business with and get their contact info so you can sit down with them.
A great line right now is do you have a plan for when gas hits $4-$5 a gallon? Most people will say no.
But the biggest thing is to always be sincere with people. They will see through you if you aren't not. If you see them as $$$ then they will know but if your heart is in the business they will see that. I have tried to just give up network marketing several times but I just can't. I really feel it is in my blood. lol but that is pretty much where you have to get to.
