[entrepreneurs] Re: SPAMMER - Are you listening?

Sometimes it is too easy to accuse potential allies of spamming.
Even multiple unrequested e-mails from the same source is not always
enough to judge someone's intent.

Only when there is open and honest dialog can we, as members of a
public board, ascertain the true intentions of any e-mails we may
recieve as a group.

If this group is to handle spam, by members, effectively perhaps
there may be other creative ways to engage those that want to do
right but inadvertantly fail.

Maybe, a list of times that it would be more approppriate to post to
the group, post to the individual, or post to the web might come in
handy. Violating the tenents of this list may be the time to open an
invitation for dialog and/or punitive group punishment.

Even while we think ourselves internet savy, others may have come
from a different culture or from a different degree of sophitication
than that of anyone or everyone else.

I offer this response, only as free-thoughts on this
group/spam/response because as I have been told at least once in my
life and I now paraphrase here, "The restrictions of free and open
communication is a dictator's playground.", to which I would include
bullies, tyrants, and many other types of scum. Those that I would
not like to be associated with. Either by intent or by accident.

Let this not be a witchhunt but an constructive place to post our
views and to develop a collective culture that raises people up
rather than knocking them down for their mistakes.

Wendy, don't take this as a knock against your response from
emajin1st's e-mails. You have every right to respond to these sort
of things. The only thing I regret is that you didn't offer emajin1st
an alternative. You missed a good opportunity to help educate us all
and to enhance the community that EAH is.

But!, I'm glad that you, at least, took the time to put it out there.
Sometimes that is all it takes to "feed the flames of communication".

One last thought. I never received an e-mail from emajin1st but I go
aagain back to my roots when I repeat the adage, "To be truly proud
of something you produced, sign it with your name."
