Subject: [entrepreneurs] computer lessons

Hi,

Many of you may remember me.  I've been a member of these groups for a
long time. I haven't been around a lot lately as I've been really busy
pursuing my passions.

I've been a stay-home, homeschooling Mom for 13 years and I've
recently gone back to 'work' in a full-time position because I love
what I do - I'm a computer programmer.

I also have my own web hosting and design business, but I found that I
didn't like the marketing and sales aspects of the business.

I just want to write code, make web pages, and keep learning.  I don't
like the design part.

I like being an entrepreneur and I like teaching my kids to be
entrepreneurs, and I now know that I am not totally dependent on my
employer because I CAN make it on my own.

But, the bottom line is that I truly LOVE my job.  I don't have to
worry about lining up the next customer so that I have work when I'm
finished with the website I'm working on now.  I don't have to worry
about hiring and firing employees.  And I don't have to worry about
anything else except the parts I truly enjoy doing.

Yes, there are a few drawbacks to working for someone else, but, in my
case, there aren't many.  As a programmer, my hours are flexible and
my employer has been great to work with and for.  And now that I'm not
spending all my time thinking about where my next paycheck will come
from, I have time to do the other things that I truly enjoy doing -
helping other people.

I have a great deal of computer and technical knowledge since I've
been working with and around computers for over 25 years.  I've taught
many computer, internet, and programming classes at the high school
and college level and to homeschoolers of all ages - including many of
the home school parents.  Some of my greatest joys have been seeing
that look of understanding on my children's faces when they finally
understand something that I'm teaching them or helping them to learn.
Those same types of rewards have been achieved when helping others to
learn too.  So, my two greatest passions are computers and teaching.

I have recently started a blog to help me help others with their
technology questions.  I thought some of you may be interested.

You guys have a GREAT day!!
