Allow me to clarify a bit. I "believe" "he also who is slack in his work, is brother to him who destroys," (PRV 18:9). "The desire of the sluggard puts him to death, for his hands refuse to work," (PRV 21:25). "Do you see a man skilled in his work? It is not "belief" that makes you free but "you will know the truth and the truth will make you free," (John 8:32). The truth is quantum physics relies on a great deal of faith. Much more faith is required to believe some of their theories which are more analog than quantum (changing continuously rather than discretely). The truth is the speed of light is not constant and that messes up a great deal of astro-physics, atomic physics and (sub-atomic) quantum physics.
And notice that the truth does not "set" you free - it "makes" you free. If you "make" a painting is it instantaneous? It might takes days, weeks, years. But as mentioned in Proverbs - it seems like hard work will help.
I agree that fears can be paralyzing and that plays on peoples "beliefs." Fear is F-alse E-vidence A-ppearing R-eal. There is healthy fear though - it keeps us safe. In order to be afraid the object of your fear needs to be present and potent at the same time. You might be afraid of a lion. If you see a stuffed lion - you should not be afraid. The lion is present but it is not potent.
Truly some are afraid of success and they do see the lion and "believe" that it is potent. The "truth" is that it is not potent. The truth makes them free from that false belief. (Phil 4:11-13) "Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in every circumstance I have learned the SECRET of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
