Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share with you a few ideas.

If you have a great product and you strongly believe this is what the market needs.
Start small and start building a strong foundation first by selling it locally
to as many small stores as you can get into..

As you grow you will start improving and adding features to your product that you
had not even seen before. When you have a strong network built locally then
you can expand and go calling on the big boys of retail chains..

Many people have this misguided idea that once they have made their
sample they first want to run to see Wal-Mart who will give them a $5 million
dollar order and they can retire and live on some secluded beach.

Sadly, that is not how business is done today anywhere and in fact business
has changed big time even in the past 5 years.They have great buyers
who work at Wal-Mart by the way and other major retailers and they are all
trained to see many areas that a novice person fails to see.
The cost of the product is one small dot to the whole equation of doing business..

Doing business with overseas sourcing is good however, you need to
go and meet face to face with your vendors who you will be doing business
with and build a trust.. There are language barriers and mistakes can easily be
made.

I know personally a number of people who have purchased containers
filled with products ready to be shipped to stores and
after inspecting their goods they are not what was agreed on.

At that point you have already paid for the goods and now there is no where for
you to go and cry all that is left is to eat it up.

Buying textiles from overseas can be a very tricky business if you do not have
training..unless you are buying a 20 foot or 40 foot container it can end up
being more expensive.
