A quick and timely business in the Boston area is to get an NBA liscense to sell Celtic T-shirts. But you will only have a limited time to act on this. A lot street vendors get licenses in our area when our local teams are doing well. You will see them on street corners just selling tee-shirts, hats, etc. Some do quite well.
Secondly: for a sustainable income - you will have to access your skill sets and desires. Do you like retail? Do you like internet businesses? Do you like consulting? Do you like teaching? etc. etc. It is the sort of questions all our career counselors should have asked us when we were about to graduate from high school and college. Now is the time to answer them. For some of us this will take several months to dwell on and others will know right away - like " I always wanted to work with gardens," or "I always wanted to work with animals," etc.
The good thing here is you know you don't have to be right - right out of the box here either. In businesses you get as many chances as you want to take. So, instead of doing something you always wanted to do - you might investigate something that you were just curious about. If you find out you don't like working with animals - sell that business and start another.
From the skill sets - inventory what you can do and what you desire to do to look for matches. I desire to dunk a basketball however my short for my weight stature will not accommodate my desire. So, maybe I can settle for selling basketball t-shirts. If your skills sets are insufficient - look for hiring in the insufficient areas verses getting training - cost verses time, etc. This should get you started. From there you will find a million more questions that you will have to answer yourself.
I hope this helps, God Bless, Ed R.
