Re: [entrepreneurs] Re: Patented Product Manufacturing

Hi Patrick, you have very good suggestions, however I do not think it will work
the way you are saying it here...having been in manufacturing for 20 years.....
In fact I know it would not work and it can become expensive....
also it depends on the product..if it is worth taking out expensive patents..

I have seen people dish out thousands of dollars on patents only to
find themselves attending a Trade Show and having almost the same
identical products on display..a few booth away...

I have designed many products and all have been home runs..
Because once the designs are done I am always thinking of the next big one.
Right now in Target they are selling a few products that I had designed and sold to
another large chain of stores last year..

The company that copied my designs and sold it to Target have a strong bond there...
When others copy you it is a form of flattery and in fashions things change all the time...

All they need to do is change a certain amount in a design which is easy
to do for some people...I decided a long time ago that I wanted my time and
focus to go on positive things...and what I designed yesterday
I have already moved today to the next new design......

Yesterday is over and done with..Karmen

I might suggest that you take a different tack. What if you pt a
sales letter ( a one page printed copy with your USP "Unique Selling
Propositon", a one line elevator pitch on it and then add 3-5
features (the is) and benefits (the does) and take that to the
players in that field. You'd probably have to do that face to face
but the sales letter would get your foot in the door.

If anyone is interested then they'll pay for the manufaturing and
you'd just collect on the license.

The only thing you'd need from a manufacturer is a price to
manufacture and they'd already be able to price it...

Just a quick review. License not sell. Maybe get the help of a
product developer (someone other than the inventor) to market the
license.

Good Luck,
